"Ad Orientem", Latin for "to the East", is a drawing I created a few summers ago meditating upon the role of the priest celebrating Mass. In persona Christi, in the place of Christ, the priest represents Christ, who offered up His body for our salvation and union with Him! Enamored with the detail and care I've witnessed my priest take during the Mass, I couldn't help but draw the moment the priest lifts his eyes to Heaven saying as Christ did during the Last Supper "For this is My Body, which will be given up for you."
